The Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle has suspended the Emir of Birnin ‘Yandoto of Tsafe Local Government Area, Alhaji Aliyu Marafa, for bestowing a chieftaincy title on Ado Alero, a banditry kingpin.
According to news report, the emir’s decision to turban the bandit was birthed from recognition of Alero’s role in a recent peace process locally arranged between the emirate and the bandits terrorising Tsafe Local Government Area.
The state government however distanced itself from this event and has immediately directed that the Emir be suspended.
